The challenge

A brand-new, one-person practice with no clients yet has to look credible immediately — with nothing to point to but itself.

The approach

Make the site the proof. Real, working systems instead of invented case studies — and treat every visual pass as a real, documented decision, not a cosmetic refresh.

What’s actually underneath it

Not a screenshot of the homepage — this site changes constantly, so a screenshot goes stale the day it’s taken. These six pieces are real and true regardless of what the visible design looks like on any given day.

01

Design system

One token set, zero hardcoded color, anywhere.

02

Theme engine

Light/Dark/System, no flash on load, live OS sync.

03

Generative canvas

The practice map — a real physics-driven node graph.

04

Static export

No server, no database, deployed as pure static output.

05

Real contact pipeline

A working form with a live spam-filtered backend.

06

Structured data & SEO

Schema.org, sitemap, OG images — all real, all checkable.

How it evolved

  1. Foundation

Real service architecture, real live demonstrations.

  2. Phase 12

A full site audit — About and Projects added, a real mobile-nav bug fixed.

  3. Phase 14

Sitewide Light/Dark/System theming, engineered against a real flash-on-load bug.

  4. Phase 17

“The Instrument” — a reskin mistaken for a redesign, retired one pass later.

  5. Phase 18

A real visual rebuild — the generative canvas graph replaced a flat diagram.

  6. This rebuild

Scroll spectacle removed; every page rebuilt from real research patterns, mobile-first.

Constraints

  • No backend, database, or payments — deliberate.
  • No fabricated clients, testimonials, or metrics — ever.
  • Real semantic text only — never baked into an image.

Outcome

No measured outcome yet — no client, no traffic data. This project is the demonstration itself.
